This is one of the figures made as a twin sculpture, meaning that both characters are made separately but belong together to form one single art piece. They are designed in a way so they can hold their hands when put together :)

They have their own little stand to stand on. Are balanced so they stands on their legs and require no additional support. In fact they are not attached to the stand and can just as easily stand on your hand if picked up.
