The pattern I used if from a fanart this artist http://www.furaffinity.net/view/22643687/ made of the batkittys. SO I figured might as well make a sculpture with it, since it's exactly how I would imagine batkittys patterns to be :)

that's a hairy cat!
and one with the clay with this one. Her face looks sad though :O
Now time for the colors
I think I like this one to be green. So many of my other dragons have been earthy colors :P

I usually add the eyes very early on since I use them as indicators of how large the head would be in the end. Plus it's easier this way than trying to maneuver them in later on when more of the facial features are more defined

I'm having a bit of trouble working around this one since the pose is very precise to keep it from slipping from the bottle :P

In the first stages you don't have to be too carful about the shape ^^
Here I'm just applying mass and trying to roughly define where more mass is needed. Now it needs to be left to dry ^^

sometimes making wings is a bit time consuming and very repetative work :P
Potion guardian
Watch out world, there is a tiny creature on the loose hunting for potions to snatch and take as his own :D
Wire frame is the first stage
Recently I've been thinking of making something with a bit more magical feel to it and the idea I've had is to do something with a creature on a potion bottle. I'll be doing 2 of them, one with a dragon and one with my very own bat-kitty. Who would have thought they could be a thing :)

Sleeping amongst the flowers
This went from cute to super adorable with anly a few blooms added ^^
His spine just grown some scales :O
This was fun :) and here the design is used from the secon movie with the doubble rows of scales :)
Experimenting with resin layering. No matter what I did the layers always remained visible
Even after folowing the instructions of people saying how to make the layers invisible it didn't work. the problem with larger pours is that it can heat up too much. So what to do what to do...
A compensation piece of cut fox in a basket
On impulse when I saw I had a tiny basket I went and made the little fox sleeping inside. it turned out cute :D
Disaster strikes and there's nothing you can do about it! D:
This goes to show how important tests are and knowing your material. Sometimes it happens we ruin our hard work in a simple mistake. While I had experience with both materials and have combined them before I have not worked with resin in such quantities. A part of me suspected something like this could happen. I should have listened to my instincts but I have far too much relied on the small samples I did.
The clay reacted to the heat of the resin curing and bubbles all over :O now she looks like she's in a jacuzzi.
Lesson learned :O

Horror eyes!
how at this stage the eyeballs in the head look absolutely horrible without the rest of the face being sculpted XD
