Parrot Gryphons
So much fun... with so much feathers!
The base
trying out how the base will work with the figure and over all shape. in the end I decided that a cube is simple too rough an bulky for a figure like this. I needed something slimmer.
Ths a hero is born!
Without the propper base he looks just like any other sculpture.

A god amongst us
A golden mane and stripes seemed like a nice way to do with the color palete ^^
Lion draogn creature
I've been fascinated by many things as an artist. sometimes the smallest of details amuses me. So here is a kudu horned lion/dragon thingy. Originally meant to be white but... it was boring as white.... I will someday make a figure that will look good in just white :3
A very fuzzy kitten
For the first time I have made a fuzzy companion figure... well, completely fuzzy that is :)

Decided to scrap the tail because it just wasn't working for this. the material I used was not sturdy enough to not break when handeled.

Wanted to make it look a bit more realistic and I could not achive this propperly with just acrylics. So I used another medium to get the glossy property that resembles fresh blood :P

Putting the color palete on
What a miracle. I like the colors first time round with virtually no correcting :D
He has a Handsome face
Didn't think he's end up looking so serious. thought he's be a bit more cartoony but apparently not :P

Decided to go mostly with scales for this one rahter than the "skin" type texture I've beed using lately :)

I'm am frustrated beyond belief! this one's colors just don't want to work. While I like the parts individually they just do not work together too well....

Frustrations
Sometimes figuring out the right color palete and pattern takes more time than the modeling itself ^^♦' This can get frustrating :P

Unlike other sculptures I did here I chose to use the non-following eyes to make them as real as possible :)
Skin deep
I wanted to document here how I used flawed clay to my advantage. it had some bith in that could not be smothed out so I make the sking of the dragon very rough and made them look like a naturally occuring pattern of the surface :)

He grew feathers
Wasn't completely sure how the feathers will mesh with the rest of the material but it turned out pretty good ^^
